MY FILMS

During my time in college at UCSB, I worked in various roles on a number of amazing projects, including writing and directing three films of my own: each marking my growing film literacy, and passion as a filmmaker from year to year.

In 2022, I directed my first film in college titled Origin Story: a personal project that showcases my existing passion but also reflects my youth. The film carries a convoluted story with various technical flaws typical of an amateur filmmaker, however, it was a crucial first step in understanding the intricacies of assembling and leading a crew, and writing/directing at a higher university level.

The following year, I was honored to be the only college finalist selected as both a writer and director for the Santa Barbara International Film Festival’s 10-10-10 program, where I directed One Last Breath. Although constrained by the use of an iPhone, a tight timeline, and the theme of climate change, this film highlights my growth in adapting to both creative and logistical limitations while further refining my craft. The film premiered at the festival in February 2023.

In my final year, I was one of four students selected for the prestigious 106 Crew Production course: the highest level of production a student can achieve at UCSB.I raised over $20,000 and led a large crew to create Breaking Character, a more mature and polished project that demonstrates my growth as both a creative leader and a filmmaker with a clearer artistic vision and voice.

While I know there’s still much to learn, these three films reflect my growth year to year and I’m excited to continue evolving and pushing myself further as I make a leap into the industry.
